The process these works on paper underwent as they moved to completion was layered and deep. I found myself working on all of them at once, moving back and forth with the brush and pencil and ink.
 
This fellow spoke deeply to me as I worked, evoking the gentle nature that many heavy horses have.

These drawings with their wax coating can be hung unframed or mounted within a frame without glass. The top edge of the paper is stitched with embroidery thread to make an ornamental hanger.
